Lacks Of Children Administred Polio Drops in Central Districts

1,693 centres established in Tiruchi district; 1,510 across Thanjavur
It has been planned to administer polio immunisation drops to 2.34 lakh children below the age of five years in Thanjavur district, Agriculture Minister R. Duraikannu said here on Sunday. He was speaking after launching this year’s first polio immunisation campaign.
District Collector A. Annadurai said 1,510 centres had been established across the district to administer polio drops. As many as 6,040 field staff, 178 supervisors and 120 medical officers were engaged in the exercise.
Rajya Sabha MP R. Vaithilingam, Thanjavur MP K. Parasuraman, Joint Director of Health Services Dr. Jeyasekara Subramanian were present.
Tiruvarur
In Tiruvarur, Food Minister R. Kamaraj launched the polio immunisation campaign and said 1,23,627 infants in the target group would be administered polio immunisation drops through 870 centres.
District Collector L. Nirmalraj, District Revenue Officer K. Sakthimani and other officials were present.
Nagapattinam
In Nagapattinam district, polio drops were administered to children below five years by State Textiles Minister O.S. Manian at the Primary Health Centre in Thalainayiru in the presence of District Collector S. Suresh Kumar.
The campaign was carried out at 1027 centres — 932 in rural parts and the rest in urban areas.
According to officials, an estimated 1,46,585 children were covered in the day-long campaign. A majority of 1,16,098 children received the vaccine in rural areas.
According to officials the vaccine would be administered to children in all places of public convergence, including places of worship, bus stands, railway stations and tourism spots, besides temporary shelters of migrant workers, on Monday.
Pudukottai
Pulse polio drops were administered to children below the age of five in a total number of 1,362 centres across the district on Sunday. This included primary health centres, government hospitals, bus stands and railway station.
Collector S. Ganesh administered the drops to children at the urban primary health centre at Kamarajapuram in Pudukottai town. Over 5,440 persons, including officials from health and revenue departments, besides those from self help groups and representatives of service organisations, were involved in the pulse polio immunization campaign, an official press release said.
Perambalur
The campaign carried out through 387 centres in the district covered an estimated 46,000 children.
A total number of 1,602 persons were deployed for the day-long campaign inaugurated by District Collector V. Santa at an anganwadi centre in Thuraimangalam
Karur
Transport Minister M.R. Vijayabhaskar inaugurated the pulse polio immunisatiion programme at the Kasthuribhai Maternity Centre here.
Collector K. Govindaraj said polio drops were administered to more than 80,000 children below five years of age. A total of 963 centres were established in the district. Special centres were set up at railway stations and the Karur bus stand to cover travelling children. The field workers would visit each and every house to administer polio drops for left out children.
Ariyalur
Government Chief Whip Thamarai S. Rajendran flagged off the drive by offering polio immunisation drops to a child at Urban Primary Health Centre in Ariyalur in the presence of Collector G. Laxmi Priya.
She said the drive had received good response in different parts of the district. More than 90% of targetted 71,136 children on Sunday. The final figure would be known on Monday.
Tiruchi
Pulse polio immunisation of children below five years of age was carried out at 1,693 centres across the district on Sunday.
Pulse polio drops were administered to an estimated 2,68,009 children — 1,73,333 in villages and the rest in urban areas. State Tourism Minister Vellamandi N. Natarajan and Minister for Backward Classes S. Valarmathi inaugurated the campaign in the presence of District Collector K. Rajamani.
Besides 1,378 centres in villages, 267 in Corporation limits, 21 in Thuraiyur Municipality, and 27 centres in Manapparai municipality, 55 centres were operated in places of public confluence including places of worship, tourism spots, bus stands and railway stations.
The leftout children will be covered under the second phase on March 11, officials said.

A National level paper presentation, conducted to bring out their proficiency and exhibit their talents. General Guidelines (06/02/2018)

  • Registration – 8:15 A M – 9:00 A M
  • Participants should strictly adhere to the schedule
  • UG and PG students can participate.
  • Each participant can participate in only one event.
  • Aided and Self-financing streams can register as individual teams.
  • The participants should bring their identity cards for registration.
  • A staff member should accompany the students.
  • Discipline and decorum should be maintained inside the college premises.
  • Any participant or team found to have violated the rules will be considered disqualified.
  • Judges decision will be final.
  • Registration fee of Rs 200 for paper presentation will be collected on 05/02/18 at 09:00 am.
  • Refreshment will be given and lunch will not be provided on 05/02/2018.
  • Registration fee of Rs 200 per participant will be collected for LIT HIT ’18 on 06/02/2018.
  • Refreshments and lunch will be provided on 06/02/2018.
  • Accommodation will not be provided.

Time: Registration 8:15 am, Presentation begins from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm
Venue: Multipurpose Auditorium
Papers should be presented on University Wits:
Christopher Marlowe, Robert Greene, and Thomas Nashe from Cambridge, and John Lyly, Thomas Lodge, and George Peele from Oxford. Students belonging to Undergraduate, Postgraduate and M. Phil are invited to present papers.

Guidelines for Paper Presentation:

  • Any number of participants can present their papers.
  • UG, PG students and M Phil students can present their papers.
  • The article should contain the title, student’s name, class,
  • name of the institution, postal address, and personal email id and phone number.
  • The paper should not exceed 4 pages and should be in MLA format. Times New Roman, 12font size, double linespace and works cited should be given. Soft copy should be sent to lithit2k18@gmail.com before 28th Jan, 2018 and hard copy should be submitted while registeration. Avoid plagiarism.
  • The Best paper award will be given separately for UG, PG and MPhil scholars. Lunch will not be provided on Feb 5,2018.
  • Registration fee of Rs 200 per participant will be collected for Paper Presentation.
